My purpose for writing this blog is to have a voice.
In the 21st century, there are numerous powerful institutions that are trying to silence our voices. Among there are are government censors, religious institutions, liberals, and mega-corporations like Google. These institutions are powerful, and invest to win the souls and minds of young people. They aim to control societies with their worldviews. These institutions want us to follow their ideas and rules, and punish us for considering alternatives (more on this later). There is a strong cultural impulse to conform to the will of these entities.
On the other hand, it is easier to be an individual now than other time in history, since anyone can create a free blog online like this one.
Anyway, I believe it is important to have a voice to really exist. So in this blog I will be writing my intimate observations and thoughts. Feel free to comment, criticize and share your own thoughts as well.
I will tell you about myself, so you can be more familiar where I'm coming from:
1) I am white- though not particularly proud to be white considering the current state of things.
2) I am from the United States.
3) I was born in the Midwest, Ohio to be exact, in a small liberal college town in Ohio
4) I went to private catholic school, and then private christian school-- I also lament this
5) My family made less than $100,000 a year for most of my childhood, which would place my family under the higher vestiges of middle class
6) I rebelled thoroughly against my white privilege and traditional Christian background, and accomplished nothing but poor grades and inferior knowledge
7) I spend a year as an exchange student in Argentina
8) I speak Spanish, and I love the language.
9) I'm a musician, but I'm not bold enough to show my voice in my lyrics
10) My mother is Italian-Spanish, a domineering controller that neutered my father (figuratively and literally) and I've been trying to raise myself to be a man
11) I'm proud of being a man, even though men are under attack in the West
12) I'm 25 and a sophomore in my Computer Science program in the mid-west
I think this is enough for a first blog post. Let your voice be heard, whoever you are, no matter how old you are. I just recommend you change the author name of your blog first, if you ever want to be employed in the future ;)
Cheers,
Ray
